Business Process Manager – Asia Pacific
Summary
The Business Process Manager will play a key role in driving process and system improvements at a regional level. While this position may not involve direct team management, it is expected that the individual will carry out responsibilities with a high level of autonomy and seniority. The role will focus on reviewing and optimizing existing processes, driving simplification, and standardization, while balancing the need for appropriate controls and market-specific flexibility. The Business Process Manager will work closely with global teams to ensure the successful implementation of these initiatives.
Responsibilities
To be successful in the role, the individual must manage and enable their team to work with various business leads to develop standard definitions and processes that can be applied across all business units.
Process Improvement
- Drive Lean Process Optimization: Utilize process improvement tools such as value stream mapping to critically evaluate, streamline, and refine processes, ensuring they are efficient while maintaining appropriate controls and flexibility for business needs.
- Address Internal Control Gaps: Collaborate with business markets to identify internal control weaknesses and propose process improvements that address these gaps while ensuring compliance.
- Foster Continuous Improvement Culture: Champion and promote a culture of continuous process improvement throughout the organization, encouraging innovation and the adoption of best practices.
- Design and Standardize Processes: Develop and implement simple, scalable, and efficient processes that include necessary internal controls, providing a strong foundation for ongoing improvements and the future integration of digital tools.
- Digitization & Automation: Lead efforts to digitize processes where possible, enabling automation and the reduction of manual, repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Automated Reporting
- Data Capture & Reporting Automation: Ensure key data is consistently captured through standardized processes, enabling the automation of reporting and dashboards across a variety of tools.
- Develop KPIs & Dashboards: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and enhance core automated reporting sets, leveraging tools such as Tableau, SAP BW, and Celonis, while actively developing and tracking KPIs to monitor business performance.
Project Management & System Rollout
- Define Business Requirements: Partner with business unit stakeholders to gather and document detailed business requirements for regional systems, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives, and effectively communicate these requirements to IT teams.
- Coordinate System Deployments: Lead the coordination and management of regional systems deployment from the business side, ensuring timely delivery and proper alignment with business needs.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Ensure the thorough completion of UAT to validate new processes and/or systems prior to roll-out, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure functionality meets business requirements.
Global Systems & Processes
- Regional Process Ownership: Act as a regional partner for Global Process Owners to ensure consistent and effective application of global process templates while considering the specific requirements of the APAC region.
- Manage Deployment of Global Systems: Oversee the coordination and management of the deployment of global systems and processes into regional markets, ensuring they are effectively adopted and utilized by local teams.
- Contribute to Global Teams: Provide regional input into global initiatives, clearly articulating APAC business requirements and ensuring that regional needs are understood and appropriately integrated into global processes and systems.
Requirements
- A degree in commerce, technology, or science.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in business process improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to identify shortfalls in business processes & systems and provide or design solutions to address.
- Ability to define key KPIs to monitor and assess effectiveness of solutions.
- Experience in project management
- Ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders, understanding their needs and concerns, and ensuring their expectations are aligned with project objectives.
- Strong communication skills in English is a must (written and spoken)
- Proficient user of core MS applications
- Proficient knowledge of core SAP functions is a must.
- Prior value stream mapping training and experience is a must
- Strong data analytical skills and a systematic approach to problem solving.
- Ability to create presentations and document processes.
- Familiarity with process modelling using BPMN methodology
- Knowledge of Tableau, Celonis and ProcessMaker would be advantageous.
